Overview

JOB PURPOSE:  This position requires experience and knowledge working with the currently deployed company IT systems operating in a Windows environment.  These systems include but are not limited to Windows servers, Active Directory, VMware, Dell Compellent SANs, PCs, SQL server, Oracle, hardware, software, peripherals, networking, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Skype for Business and office automation equipment. The Information Technology Analyst installs, supports and modifies hardware and software systems and provides technical advice and support to system end-users. The position troubleshoots and resolves user and/or system initiated issues, providing requisite training to end users. The position coordinates and executes hardware/software acquisition and deployment as instructed. 

Responsibilities

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

SOFTWARE SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE

  • Provide telephone, in-person, and online Help Desk support to end-users
  • Connect users to networks and provide initial training in IT systems and applications
  • Administer e-mail, anti-virus and other systems as needed
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to expand the functionality of enterprise level software applications or evaluating, recommending and procuring new software to support business processes when necessary
  • Manage/maintain SQL and Oracle infrastructures
  • Continually seek out ways to improve and promote quality and efficiency for all IT systems and processes
  • Create and maintain servers in a VMware environment
  • Manage and monitor standard processes for updates, patches, and bug reporting in a Windows environment
  • Keep current with the latest technologies

 HARDWARE SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE

 

  • Research, develop, and update information technology systems and process to support business unit functions
  • Assist in identifying and procuring the hardware and software needed to satisfy user requirements
  • Assist in research and procurement of computer accessories and supplies
  • Assist in the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals, and office automation equipment
  • Assist in the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT telecommunication systems
  • Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment

 

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum

  • High School/Trade School degree with a focus in Information Technology or related field

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Four (4) years’ related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • Significant knowledge of PCs, PC repair, and operating systems
  • Competency with VMware systems and SAN environmentsStrong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work well with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including helpfulness and patience in dealing with fellow employees
  • Ability to manage difficult situations, respond promptly to end-user needs and solicit end-user feedback to improve service and systems
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts; draw valid conclusions, exercise discretion, and use independent judgment
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Maturity and professionalism to effectively handle frequent exposure to senior members at ESG, as well as with external organizations, customers, and the public
  • Experience with PowerShell, VBScript and SQL Scripting a plus.
