The Receptionist/Administrative Assistant position acts as the receptionist for ESG’s corporate office as well as an Administrative support role for both the Corporate office and the Public Sector’s Southeast Region. This role requires strong internal and external customer service skills, experience and knowledge of various Microsoft software packages and the ability to multi-task.  Main duties include but are not limited to greeting visitors to the building, answering the phone, arranging for internal meetings, document processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing and power point. Further, the position requires verbal and written communication, independent judgment and discretion, priority determinations, attention to details, follow-through skills as well as interpersonal skills.  This individual is required to work harmoniously and communicate (verbal and written) with workers and co-workers inter and intra-departmentally.




  • Answer the main ESG telephone number and direct calls
  • Greet all visitors
  • Receive and prepare mail, UPS and FedEx deliveries
  • Provide administrative support for telephone and intercom system, the Southeast Region and general administrative support as needed in the corporate office
  • Coordinates office schedules and designated areas for conference rooms, calls and meetings
  • Performs administrative functions utilizing Microsoft Office suite and various other software packages
  • May provide assistance arranging for maintenance for corporate office, including but not limited to, arranging quarterly, seasonal, and annual building/maintenance inspections, such as pest control, heating/air filters, plumbing, fire extinguisher check-ups, exterior building maintenance, landscaping care, etc.
  • Completes business card processing via in house program for entire company
  • Act as a backup to the Executive assistant as needed
  • Performs all duties as deemed necessary by management





  • Four (4) years administrative or related field experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience



  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including spelling, grammar, and proper phone etiquette skills
  • Maturity and professionalism to effectively handle frequent exposure to senior members at Energy Systems Group, as well as with external organizations, customers, and the public
  • Attendance for this position is very important as this position allows access to the building for visitors.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work at a desk and operate a computer, often sitting for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally have to lift and/or move up to 10 to 20 pounds. 


The employee is required to practice, recognize, and interpret safety precautions and follow safety rules and OSHA requirements as they relate to the job. The employee is required to work in an indoor environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 


Consistent and reliable attendance is required.
