  • Overview


    This individual will be a member of the Federal Measurement and Verification (M&V) Team.  Participates as an active team member in developing of energy baselines and verifying energy saving control strategies.  This individual must be self-motivated and able to work independently but must also be able to interface directly with development engineers, installation team members, M&V engineers and Federal government clients to develop system-wide solutions.  An ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about HVAC equipment, its operating characteristics, energy management control systems (EMCS) and have prior experience working in Federal government market. Under guidance of senior M&V engineering team members, individual will be responsible for completing assigned tasks on time and within budget. Manages assigned work in a professional and timely manner. Perform other related duties as assigned.



    • Assists in development of energy baselines or benchmarks including execution of data logging deployment, establishing, verifying, and retrieving EMCS trend data.
    • Monitors data gathering systems used to track energy consumption during the installation and performance periods. As appropriate, solves issues or elevates to appropriate measurement and verification engineering members for team review and resolution.
    • Exceptional ability to use, verify, and install various energy monitoring equipment including hand held and permanently installed electrical, natural gas, steam, and water meters.
    • Diagnoses and repairs complex electronic control system malfunction's requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems and ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software and communications protocols.
    • Ability to work with client EMCS operators to ensure energy saving controls strategies of equipment are within contractual terms. Proactively reviews and/or interprets problems or patterns related to energy savings control strategies and EMCS trend data. As appropriate, solves issues or elevates to appropriate senior M&V engineering members for team review and resolution.
    • May provide training to customers on electronic control systems operations. Delivers manuals and documentation to the customer for training needs as required.
    • Provides support to the development engineering, construction, and measurement and verification teams.
    • Provides sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings. 
    • Basic understanding of statistical and data analytics.
    • Adheres to the strict safety standards of ESG and Federal clients.
    • Requires a responsible, self-starter who can handle multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.  Able to travel up to 50%





    • Vocational School four-year program or an Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field.
    • Three years of industry experience or five years experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry

    • Certifications, etc.




    • Required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems, energy management control systems, computation and network equipment installation and servicing techniques. 
    • Proficient use of Microsoft suite of products.
