  • Overview

    Compensation Systems Analyst is responsible for completing all of the tasks involved with administering the Incentive Compensation Plans, including design and modeling, eligibility management and payment calculation, reporting and analysis, plan auditing and governance control.

    Analyst performs the processing and reporting of incentive plan compensation. This position requires the utilization of management skills, various Microsoft software packages, computer network, internet and intra-net databases, and ensures legal and regulatory compliance. This includes but is not limited to document processing, spreadsheets, power point, and maintaining databases.

    Analyst provides payroll and expense processing support, including but not limited to, assisting the payroll manager with timecard administration and processing of bi-weekly payroll; and processes employee expense reports through an automated tracking system.

    Further, the position requires inter and intra-departmental verbal and written communication, independent judgment and discretion, priority determinations, execution of policies, attention to details, and follow-through skills to meet deadlines..


    • Calculates quarterly commission/incentive payments based on plan provisions.
    • Performs activities needed for the development, implementation, communication and administration of incentive programs, plans and policies.
    • Reviews payment reports for accuracy and completeness.
    • Able to verify and follow through, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments as outlined in the plan. Resolves reconciliation issues.
    • Contributes to the development or improvement of systems to effectively track or capture data, and automate processes, reconciliations and reporting.
    • Utilizes spreadsheets, systems or dedicated computer programs to gather data for payment calculation, monthly accruals and analysis.
    • Performs cost analysis, modeling of alternative incentive plan design and ad-hoc analyses as needed.
    • Ensures all incentive plan changes are communicated & published.
    • Acts in accordance with the organization's information security, HR and corporate policies.
    • Protects assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference.
    • Reports security events or potential events or other security risks to the organization.
    • Prepares incentive payout documentation for internal audit review.
    • Prepares schedules and reconciliations for the annual financial statement audit process.
    • Conducts the entire payroll process for a subsidiary company; from weekly timecard processing through final bi-weekly direct deposit and report generation.
    • Review and processing of employee expense reports submitted through an automated tracking system.


    • Other tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned. 




    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Accounting Experience
    • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office Software preferred; advanced Excel skills required.
    • Intermediate to Advanced computer operational skills required.



    • 3 years of professional level compensation experience and/or conducting variable pay/incentive analysis



    • Ability to work well with all levels of management
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including helpfulness and patience in dealing with fellow employees
    • Ability to manage difficult situations, respond promptly to end-user needs and solicit end-user feedback to improve service and systems
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, exercise discretion and independent judgment
    • Self-motivated and self-directed
    • Able to multitask, prioritize workload and meet deadlines
    • Ability to think intuitively and be highly analytical with a balance of being detail oriented but able to see how the details relate to the big picture
